University of Iowa Race Weekend

Successful weekend as Team Iowa swept the Men’s A/B races Saturday and Sunday. The Men’s A race saw an impressive attack by Alex Libin (Iowa) and Will Greenwood (Northern Iowa). The breakaway stuck as Libin’s pace was unmatched and the rest of Team Iowa controlled the peloton, confirming the win for Libin.

Iowa took first place in the TTT event later in the afternoon
On Sunday, the new criterium  course faired well for Team Iowa again.  30+mph winds on a .5 loop with a steep climb and decent each lap put two Iowa riders in the breakaway, this time it was A.J. Turner and Kevin Tempel.  A.J. Turner (Iowa) took the victory. In the women’s A/B, Gracia Folkeringa (Minnesota) took her second consecutive win of the weekend.  Next weekend’s race will be in Lawrence, Kansas hosted by the University of Kansas Race Weekend.
